For Immediate Release 2019-2020 Season Update Part 1

The Saint John Major Midget AAA Vito’s, southern New Brunswick’s premiere minor hockey organization, are celebrating the contributions of Randy Jones, Tim Jones, and Frank Bordage, three of program’s highly valued members. All three announced their resignations from the Vito’s organization at the end of the 2018-2019 season, and they will be missed. George Georgoudis, a Director of the Hockey New Brunswick franchise, observed that the Jones brothers have the unusual distinction of having led the team as players and as coaches. “Both Randy and Tim were phenomenal players in this organization and both of them were leaders when they played here. They’ve both had impressive accomplishments in the sport – in Randy’s case in the NCAA and the NHL and in Tim’s case in junior and senior hockey. For our organization to have them back as coaches and administrators over the past 3 years has been a very special honor and they’ve brought lasting improvements that will benefit young players in the future. One thing that isn’t always obvious to people is the extent of the commitment that our coaches and managers make to our program and our athletes. It’s a volunteer workload of hundreds and hundreds of hours, twelve months of the year. For Randy and Tim to give 3 years of their lives to these young players, that’s a huge gift and it’s difficult to really put into words how much we appreciate it.” Frank Bordage, the team’s Game Day Manager for several years, has been popular and well-loved by players, coaches, and fans alike. In the program’s storybook Telus Cup run, Frank was a nationally-known face of the Vito’s and has been ever since. Georgoudis said “No one brings energy and passion to our program like Frankie does. We love him and we’ll miss him.”
